Trumann is a small city located in northeastern Arkansas. It is positioned in Poinsett County and is part of the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area. The United States Census Bureau reported approximately 7,129 people lived in Trumann in 2016. Trumann is the largest city in Poinsett County.

Trumann was originally known as Mosher. In 1902 the name was changed Weona after a local lumber company. Trumann was incorporated under its current name in 1917. It was not until 1924 that Trumann gained status as a second-class city. About 30 years later Truman became a first-class city.
